Render Unto Ceaser

When Christ said, “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesars’ and unto God the things that are Gods’” He clearly expressed the reality that there are those parts of a believers existence which are not a part of the Divine, and those that are. Obviously I can not disassociate my faith from those areas of my life which are part of the “worldly existence.” I must be ever conscious of the great difference between the two.

The scripture makes it plain that we are to have our faith affect our life in the world, not the world our faith or worship. In this day of a “user friendly” mentality, many churches have gone out of their way to make attendees feel comfortable. I was always of the persuasion that the unbeliever should feel at least a little uneasy in the Church. Isn’t that a part of what conviction is? Now I am not talking about being made to feel uncomfortable because of unfriendliness, but rather because of the loving yet unquestionable conviction of the Holy Spirit. When many are proclaiming such marvelous movings of the Holy Spirit I don’t understand why the unbeliever is so at home, and conviction so lacking.

Could it be that what is Caesars’ and what is Gods’ have somehow become merged into one?

I trust each of us affect the world around us. But never let the Church be changed into conformity with the world l! The Church and the world are as distinct as … well …the CHURCH AND THE WORLD.

Bush is the biggest spender since LBJ

David Lightman McClatchy Newspapers
last updated: October 23, 2007 07:34:58 PM

WASHINGTON — George W. Bush, despite all his recent bravado about being an apostle of small government and budget-slashing, is the biggest spending president since Lyndon B. Johnson. In fact, he's arguably an even bigger spender than LBJ.

“He’s a big government guy,” said Stephen Slivinski, the director of budget studies at Cato Institute, a libertarian research group.

The numbers are clear, credible and conclusive, added David Keating, the executive director of the Club for Growth, a budget-watchdog group.

“He’s a big spender,” Keating said. “No question about it.”

Take almost any yardstick and Bush generally exceeds the spending of his predecessors.
When adjusted for inflation, discretionary spending — or budget items that Congress and the president can control, including defense and domestic programs, but not entitlements such as Social Security and Medicare — shot up at an average annual rate of 5.3 percent during Bush’s first six years, Slivinski calculates.

That tops the 4.6 percent annual rate Johnson logged during his 1963-69 presidency. By these standards, Ronald Reagan was a tightwad; discretionary spending grew by only 1.9 percent a year on his watch.

Discretionary spending went up in Bush's first term by 48.5 percent, not adjusted for inflation, more than twice as much as Bill Clinton did (21.6 percent) in two full terms, Slivinski reports.
Defense spending is the big driver — but hardly the only one.

Under Bush it's grown on average by 5.7 percent a year. Under LBJ — who had a war to fund, too — it rose by 4.9 percent a year. Both numbers are adjusted for inflation.

Including costs for fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, defense spending under Bush has gone up 86 percent since 2001, according to Chris Hellman of the Center for Arms Control and Non-
Proliferation.

Current annual defense spending — not counting war costs — is 25 percent above the height of the Reagan-era buildup, Hellman said.

Homeland security spending also has soared, to about $31 billion last year, triple the pre-9/11 number.

But Bush's super-spending is about far more than defense and homeland security.
Brian Riedl, a budget analyst at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative research group, points to education spending. Adjusted for inflation, it's up 18 percent annually since 2001, thanks largely to Bush’s No Child Left Behind act.

The 2002 farm bill, he said, caused agriculture spending to double its 1990s levels.
Then there was the 2003 Medicare prescription drug benefit — the biggest single expansion in the program’s history — whose 10-year costs are estimated at more than $700 billion.
And the 2005 highway bill, which included thousands of “earmarks,” or special local projects stuck into the legislation by individual lawmakers without review, cost $295 billion.
“He has presided over massive increases in almost every category … a dramatic change of pace from most previous presidents,” said Slivinski.

The White House counters by noting that Bush took office as the country was heading into a recession, then reeled from the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

“This president had to overcome some things that required additional spending,” said Sean Kevelighan, a White House budget office spokesman.
Bush does have other backers.

Diana Furchtgott-Roth, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, a conservative research group, blamed a ravenous Congress that was eager to show constituents how generous it could be. (Republicans ran that Congress until January. Bush never vetoed a single GOP spending bill.)
The White House points out that, nearly four years ago, Bush vowed to cut the deficit in half by 2009, and he's well on his way to achieving that goal. The fiscal 2004 deficit was a record $412.7 billion; the 2007 figure plunged to $163 billion.

But the deficit drop may be fleeting, experts say, since lawmakers are likely to extend many of Bush’s tax cuts, which expire by the end of 2010, and the imminent retirement of the baby boom generation will send Medicare and Social Security costs soaring in the years ahead.
Now, near the end of the seventh year of his presidency, Bush is positioning himself as a tough fiscal conservative.

He says Congress is proposing to spend $22 billion more in fiscal 2008 than the $933 billion he requested for discretionary programs — and that the $22 billion extra would swell over five years to $205 billion.

Eventually, Bush said, “they’re going to have to raise taxes to pay for it.”
And so, the president told an Arkansas audience earlier this month, people should brace for “what they call a fiscal showdown in Washington.

“The Congress gets to propose and, if it doesn’t meet needs as far as I’m concerned, I get to veto,” he said. “And that’s precisely what I intend to do.”
Bush is getting tough on fiscal policy — after running up a record as the most profligate spender in at least 40 years.

“The spending did happen,” said Keating, “and a lot of it shouldn’t have happened.”

Blogs I have previously posted - Illegal Immigration

Thursday morning Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandy Winfield was murdered. An illegal alien executed him. His wife has lost a loving husband, and his two children, including 3-year-old Landon, will never have the joy of their Dad’s encouragement and instruction.

As a Father my concern for my own son and son-in-law, both law enforcement officers, has been piqued. As a Pastor and law enforcement chaplain, I recognize the great need for spiritual support amongst those in the law enforcement community. As a citizen I am angry that our government seems to turn a blind eye to the thousands of lawbreakers streaming across our southern border. As a consumer I am determined never to support those businesses, which employ illegal workers.

The Bible asks the question “How can two walk together except they be agreed?” As Christians we are living pictures of Christ. What the unbelievers see in us is what they see of Christ. You cannot separate the effects of our faith from our faith. Neither can you separate the actions of illegal aliens from that of the politicians and officials, which condone their illegal behavior.

Tonight two little children will go to bed missing their Dad, and a wife will try to cope with the loss of her husband. They need our prayers. I trust those whose policies encourage illegal immigration sleep well. They also need our prayers.

My Current Politcal Pick

As those who know me know, I am very interested in politics. Like some, I have spent much time over the last several weeks listening to politicians ad naseum! I believe our nation is in crises. We need a President who truly defends and protects the Constitution! I believe Dr. Ron Paul is that man! If you haven't seriously considered him, please do so by visiting his site.

WiFi Extender

Today I completed my work at Brucker and Kishler and installed a Linksys Extender to enable wireless internet over the building. It was not an easy task as the router kept kicking out an inaccurate ip. In spite of releasing, renewing, etc. I was not able to get a working ip. I finally called Linksys and the tech advised me I needed a firmware update on the router. He did that for me and shortly I needed to find a good location for the extender. We placed it high in the new loby and voila...wireless!!

I then intended to make a network but everyone was very busy so I will look at it sometime in the future when the computers aren't needed.

Overall I am very pleased!!

Car Dealer Profit -2

It ahould come as no surprise that there is allot of money to be made in car sales. Like everything else are allot of variables but it is done. New car sales are interesting. Have you ever seen a car dealership which only sells new cars? Know why? In the car world the real profit, the obscene profit is in the used car. BUT don't ever let a salesman tell you they are not making any money on a new car.

I saw a televison ad recently from Ricart Ford in Columbus in which they posted the invoices of their cars on a wall, and all you needed to do was chose your invoice. The implication being you were paying for the car what the dealer did. WRONG!!!

When I worked for Mathews Ford I was given a password and login name for FMCdealers.com. On that site it is made clear there are not 2 prices, sticker and invoice ... but three!!! Sticker, invoice and dealer cost. Thats right .... the dealer did not pay invoice for the car, they paid dealer cost which is $1000.00 or more LESS than invoice. So they are making money. Now Mathews is selling over 200 cars a month. Even if every car was sold at invoice that is over $200,000 profit in one month! But that is chump change!!

The real money is in the used cars, the trades .... and by the way the deal is written up! Oh and just when you think the deal is settled and the deal is sent back to finance .... get ready to pay big time!! They need to eat also .... this and more is coming!

Car Dealer Profit

Tomorrow I hope to enlarge on how the car dealerships can pay $150,000 a year to their sales people while maintaining state of the art buildings! There is a reason them they call them dealerships! How much did you really get on your trade .... or pay for your car? Where is the money coming from???

Wireless Setup

Well, today I acted as an IT specialist for Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. For months and months they have been trying to make their internet available over wireless, both for guests in their cafe, as well as for my wife and others working there. I set out this morning to make it work. By the time I left late this afternoon wireless was working for everyone. Tomorrow I need to extend their wireless and encryp the connection.

Everyone is very pleased!!!

The major problem was that the DSL server they were using was PPPoE while the wireless was DHCP!!! No wonder they were frustrated, ever try to comunicate with a Chinese national! LOL

Unfortunately the owner had forgotten the log in info, and the modem was 10 years old and did not even have an ip address. We had to use telnet to communicate with the modem. As a result, plus that of the provider having messed up the log in name, complicated matters a great deal. BUT, when I left not only was everyone on line, but the wireless was working.

Tomorrow I set up a Linksys extender, enable WEP, change the network name, enable network accesibility ... and I will be done.

You can't access the Father apart from the SON. Everything must speak the same language, and that is the role of the Holy Spirit! It is sad that just because the connected light is on some feel they have reached the Father!!!

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger

"Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" effectively have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who with his signature also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they choose.

"We are shocked and appalled that the governor has blatantly attacked traditional family values in California," said Karen England, executive director of Capitol Resource Institute.
"With this decision, Gov. Schwarzenegger has told parents that their values are irrelevant. Many parents will have no choice but to pull their children out of the public schools that have now become sexualized indoctrination centers."

"Arnold Schwarzenegger has delivered young children into the hands of those who will introduce them to alternative sexual lifestyles," said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families, which worked to defeat the plans. "This means children as young as five years old will be mentally molested in school classrooms.

"Shame on Schwarzenegger and the Democrat politicians for ensuring that every California school becomes a homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination center," he said.
Analysts have warned that schools across the nation will be impacted by the decision, since textbook publishers must cater to their largest purchaser, which often is California, and they will be unlikely to go to the expense of having a separate edition for other states.
The bills signed by Schwarzenegger include SB777, which bans anything in public schools that could be interpreted as negative toward homosexuality, bisexuality and other alternative lifestyle choices.

There are no similar protections for students with traditional or conservative lifestyles and beliefs, however.

"SB 777 will result in reverse discrimination against students with religious and traditional family values," said Meredith Turney, legislative liaison for Capitol Resource Institute. "These students have lost their voice as the direct result of Gov. Schwarzenegger's unbelievable decision. The terms 'mom and dad' or 'husband and wife' could promote discrimination against homosexuals if a same-sex couple is not also featured.

"Parents want the assurance that when their children go to school they will learn the fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic – not social indoctrination regarding alternative sexual lifestyles. Now that SB777 is law, schools will in fact become indoctrination centers for sexual experimentation," she said.

England told WND that the law is not a list of banned words, including "mom" and "dad." But she said the requirement is that the law bans discriminatory bias.

"Having 'mom' and 'dad' promotes a dicsriminatory bias. You have to either get rid of 'mom' and 'dad' or include everything when talking about [parental issues]," she said. "They [promoters of sexual alternative lifestyles] do consider that discriminatory."

Also signed was AB394, which targets parents and teachers for such indoctrination through "anti-harassment" training, CCF said.

Schwarzenegger had vetoed almost identical provisions a year ago, saying existing state law already provided for penalties for discrimination.

"We had hoped that the governor would once again veto this outrageous legislation but he obviously decided to side with the out-of-touch extremists that control the legislature. This law does not reflect the true values of the average Californian," said England. "True leadership means standing up for what is true and right."

Thomasson said SB777 prohibits any "instruction" or school-sponsored "activity" that "promotes a discriminatory bias" against "gender" – the bill's definition includes cross-dressing and sex changes – as well as "sexual orientation."

"Because no textbook or instruction in California public schools currently disparages transsexuality, bisexuality, or homosexuality, the practical effect of SB777 will be to require positive portrayals of these sexual lifestyles at every government-operated school," CCF noted.
Offenders will face the wrath of the state Department of Education, up to and including lawsuits.
CCF noted that now on a banned list will be any text, reference or teaching aid that portrays marriage as only between a man and woman, materials that say people are born male or female (and not in between), sources that fail to include a variety of transsexual, bisexual and homosexual historical figures, and sex education materials that fail to offer the option of sex changes.

Further, homecoming kings now can be either male or female – as can homecoming queens, and students, whether male or female, must be allowed to use the restroom and locker room corresponding to the sex with which they choose to identify.

AB394 promotes the same issues through state-funded publications, postings, curricula and handouts to students, parents and teachers.

It also creates the circumstances where a parent who says marriage is only for a man and a woman in the presence of a lesbian teacher could be convicted of "harassment," and a student who believes people are born either male or female could be reported as a "harasser" by a male teacher who wears women's clothes, CCF said.

Thomasson said Schwarzenegger also signed AB14, which prohibits state funding for any program that does not support a range of alternative sexual practices, including state-funded social services run by churches.

Affected will be day cares, preschool or after-school programs, food and housing programs, senior services, anti-gang efforts, jobs programs and others.

Thomasson said it also forces every hospital in California – even private, religious hospitals – to adopt policies in support of transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality and opens up nonprofit organizations to lawsuits if they exclude members that engage in homosexual, bisexual, or transsexual conduct.

"It's the height of intolerance to punish individuals, organizations, businesses, and churches that have moral standards on sexual conduct and sexual lifestyles," said Thomasson, in response to the signing of AB14. "This is another insensitive law that violates people's moral boundaries."
The vitriol over the issue rose to new levels in its latest campaign.

As WND reported, a board member for the homosexual advocacy group Equality California verbally attacked and threatened CRI for its opposition to the bill earlier.
The board member sent an e-mail and video to CRI threatening the group would be buried if it continued efforts opposing the homosexual advocacy.

"The shocking hate mail we received shows that those behind this legislation do not promote true tolerance," said England. "Only politically correct speech will be tolerated. Those with religious or traditional moral beliefs will not be allowed to express their opinions in public schools."

She also cited an informational document published by the Gay-Straight Alliance Network and the Transgender Law Center that already is lobbying for special treatment in the school system.
"If you want to use a restroom that matches your gender identity … you should be allowed to do so," it advises. "Whenever students are divided up into boys and girls, you should be allowed to join the group or participate in the program that matches your gender identity as much as possible."

Further, the groups advise, "If you change your name to one that better matches your gender identity, a school needs to use that name to refer to you." The advocacy group also warns schools against bringing parents into any such discussion with students.

WND has documented a number of earlier cases in which educators, including leaders in California, have taken it upon themselves to promote a homosexual lifestyle to children under their charge.

WND reported California Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell, under whose supervision hundreds of thousands of children are being educated, has used his state position and taxpayer-funded stationery to praise a "gay" pride event used in the past to expose children to sexually explicit activities.

That drew vehement objections from several educators, including Priscilla Schreiber, the president of the Grossmont Unified High School District governing board.

"I am outraged that a person in this high-ranking elected position would advocate an event where diversity is not just being celebrated but where pornography and indecent exposure is being perpetrated on the young and innocent children of our communities," she said.

Church Repair

This summer we have been hit with some pretty severe storms. One of the storms knocked down a large maple tree.

Today I contracted with Clagget Construction to do the repairs. Paul (the owner) is a very Godly man, and does excellent work! There are roof shingles, gutter, sophit (sp), and handicap ramp repairs to be done!

George Carlin's Views on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

'How old are you?' 'I'm four and a half!' You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

'How old are you?' 'I'm gonna be 16!' You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . You become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30 ; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; 'I Was JUST 92.'

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. 'I'm 100 and a half!'
May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them.'

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

We are under Attack!!!

THIS IS HAPPENING RIGHT HERE IN OUR OWN COUNTRY!

We Must Stop This Immediately !

Have you noticed that stairs are getting steeper? Groceries are heavier? And, everything is farther away? Yesterday I walked to the corner and I was dumbfounded to discover how long our street had become!

And, you know, people are less considerate now, especially the young ones. They speak in whispers &... all the time! If you ask them to speak up they just keep repeating themselves, endlessly mouthing the same silent message until they're red in the face! What do they think I am, a lip reader??!?

I also think they are much younger than I was at the same age. On the other hand, people my own age are so much older than I am.... I mean, I ran into an old friend the other day and she has aged so much that she didn't even recognize me. Poor soul.

I got to thinking about the poor dear while I was combing my hair this morning, and in doing so, I glanced at my own reflection... well, REALLY NOW! - even mirrors are not made the way they used to be!

Another thing, everyone drives so fast these days! You're risking life and limb if you happen to pull onto the freeway in front of them. All I can say is, their brakes must wear out awfully fast, the way I see them screech and swerve in my rear view mirror!

Clothing manufacturers are less civilized these days. Why else would they suddenly start labeling a size 10 or 12 dress as 18 or 20? Do they think no one notices? The people who make bathroom scales are pulling the same cruel prank. Do they think I actually "believe" the number I see on that dial? HA! I would never let myself weigh that much! Just who do these people think they're fooling?

I'd like to call up someone in authority to report what's going on -- but the telephone company is in on the conspiracy too: they've printed the phone books in such small type that no one could ever find a number in there!

All I can do is pass along this warning:
WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!

Unless something drastic happens, pretty soon everyone will have to suffer these awful indignities.

PS: I am sending this to you in a larger font size, because something has happened to my computer's fonts - they are smaller than they once were.

My experiences as a car salesman!

I will be editing this post in the future, this is just a start.

About two months ago I began working as a saleman at Mathews Ford in Newark, OH. I was fired last Thursday, so everything I say here might not be totally objective, but it is true in my experience.

First of all, I want to say that there are several people of integrity involved in the car business, and there are several motivated by netharious motives. The motive which motivates some is "GREED"! Greed has long been identified as one of the deadly sins, and so it is.

I will atempt, as objectively as possible to express observations and experiences. I will not use the language used towards me as I was called a GD MF'n liar ... and more shocked when Management defended them. Of course such statements were conversational English for some in management.

GREED is the operational word. Some who have no education or skills beyond that of sex. intimidation, or the gift of flirting and the ability to lie. make over $100,000 a year. This was supposed to be the motivation in bringing me to surrender all my ethics and surrender to the "business."

As I post this bog, I will reveal everything I know .... so hold on!

I have been raised, as indeed have all of my family with the Christian ethic which says the most rewarding act of life is serving and benefiting someone else! These people seem to be motivated by nothing more thn pure greed! I found it reprehsible!! One of the managers told me I needed to have more drive .... duh .... well you sir need to be more driven by peoples needs then your own pocketbook!

Speaking of pocketbooks. There are Salespeople working at Mathews who make over $125,000 a year. Now there are currently 15 salespeople, 4 Managers. I do not begrudge anyone earning a fair wage, but when over $2,000,000 is basically manipulated out of peoples pocketbooks it moves from honest gain to dishonest!

From my friend Land of Middle Girth

October 15, 2007 - Monday

Freedom brand nuts: Now with more cashews!

Since the 2008 presidential election season started in January 2001, the lives of individuals have, no doubt, gone through a laundry list of changes. New lives have been brought into the world, while some have left (some before their time,) people have gotten new jobs, moved their household, married, and retired. Such is the circle of life. Changes will be made, and lives will grow for the better or the worse. Some things, however, should not change. Some people view the actions of the government in the past seven years or so as adulterous to the vows taken in various ceremonies, while others are hard-pressed to find any fault and either do not care or have forgotten why and how America was founded and what that foundation consisted of. The birth-pains this country suffered to create a new life in the form of a constitutional republic, along with the philosophy that the continuity of a government based on freedom and liberty, regardless of antagonism, is paramount, are long elapsed. So what was considered when our government was authored? Let's look at one of our Founding Fathers and his critique of the nations in Europe and what would help their governments achieve perfection.
John Adams was America's first minister to the British court when the Constitutional Convention was assembled at Philadelphia, giving him insight not only to the issues pertinent to America, but of Europe as well. In his writing, The Prudent Constitutions of America, John Adams notes on the status of the ever changing face of Europe and the liberties contained therein. Concerning what would make some of these governments better, that is more free, he stated "Commerce begins to thrive; and if religious toleration were established, personal liberty, a little more protected, by giving an absolute right to demand a public trial in a certain reasonable time, and the states were invested with a few more privileges, or rather restored to some that have been taken away, these governments would be brought to as great a degree of perfection, they would approach as near to the character of government of laws and not of men, as their nature will probably admit of. In so general a refinement, or more properly a reformation of manners and improvement in science, is it not unaccountable that the knowledge of the principles and construction of free governments, in which the happiness of life, and even the further progress of improvement in education and society, in knowledge and virtue, are so deeply interested, should have remained at a full stand for two or three thousand years." There is a lot going on there, but breaking it down you can see what is considered by Mr. Adams to be five general definitions getting as close as you can come, to paraphrase his words, a perfect government.

While I really don't feel your time is best served by reading an exhaustive list of my opinions on John Adams and his opinions, I do, however wish to say, in respect to the above quote: our commerce thrives, but on the stupidity and greed, perpetuated by debt ridden individuals and government, our personal liberties have been slowly eroded, exposing a layer of authority driven not by the written laws that define this nation, but by a philosophy of power and tyranny of men, and the rights of the states within America are there only so far as the central government permits, although our founding documents declared it should not remotely be this way.

After reading the above quote of John Adams' definition of what it takes to achieve proximity to perfection of government, in the past seven years would you consider have we moved closer or are we further removed from that desirable goal? Are we to accept the Founding Father's opinions of the role of government to be sacred, or should the definition be altered and conformed to the will of the current social climate or to how the members of our government feel it should be altered?

C. S. Lewis stated "One cause of misery and vise is always present with us in the greed and pride of men, but at certain periods in history this is greatly increased by the temporary prevalence of some false philosophy." The philosophy, or belief of the role of government, through the greed and pride of men, has been subjected to a false ideology that threatens to erode our foundation. Erosion can occur both slowly with a trickle carving over time, or rapidly with a swift, voluminous flow Either way regardless of the material of the foundation, if that erosion if allowed to continue, a void will be created causing a miserable life in the form of government.

Perhaps it is inevitable that time will corrupt all truth and laws, and erosion fueled by our pride will wear away at what once was seen as honorable. Consider the Law handed down to Moses, the Law that was considered good and holy would, years later, be distorted as evidenced it's interpretation and manipulation by the Pharisee leaders. The Author of the Law, after His arrival, was subjected to ridicule and persecution leading ultimately to His execution. One wonders how a critique of our government by its founders would be received by those currently in power or the apologists along the sidelines.

Asserting the opinion that the government, to keep it mild, has lost its way will illicit amusing responses and accusations from most people, from whom you would be considered: anti-American, a conspiracy theorist, communist, or a plain old nut. Personally, I feel calling a fellow American a nut for believing we should follow the Constitution is tantamount to calling a fellow Christian a nut for believing the Gospel. To do either is inconsistent with what you declare to be true. Would you consider a vegan PETA member who offered you a bacon sandwich made with real bacon a person who is consistent with what defines their world view? What, then, would you call an American, who claims pride in his nationality yet believes following the Constitution, the document that defines America, is outdated, and erosion to that foundation is a good step? A nut.

Bill Lewis

I am really excited about a talent coming to Newark Heights on the 11th of November. You will want to check out his site. http://billlewissings.homestead.com/files/default.htm

I am learning

Well, I just completed learning how to create a photo gallery on my web site! I created some galleries and have several more to do. I decided to delete the movie link and just put any movies I find interesting here

I never thought I would say this but I am liking the PC more and more. I was able to create an ftp link to my server and transfer files just by dragging them. Neat!!

My son has a web site which is really cool. Because of his job he keeps it private. I wish you all could see it but times being what they are he is wise!

Check out this vid.

Time to go to sleep

Well, I have been working on our website all day! I am now quite tired, but at least I don't have to go to work tomorrow. (That is a subject for future blogs!). I am pretty pleased wit the site, but I am not real happy with the photo part. I need to link it to a photo hosting site. I have one on my server, but I need to figure it out. I hope to do so tommorow.

I am going to try to link a funny video here. If it works great, if it doesn't .... tomorrow!

My first post

Wow ... I can't believe how late it is! I have been working on our websit all afternoon and evening! I am still trying to get used to a PC after having the joy of working on a Mac. Hmmmm....I think I will get used to it, but it is so much more complicated! I also seem to be having trouble getting my mail! Must be some button buried somewhere!!
